A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Restaurant Housekeeping Transferthought

Step 1: Getting Started

Click the "New" button and then the edit icon to change the title of your transfer thought. In this example, we will name it "Restaurant Housekeeping." Next, customize the course thumbnail by searching for an appropriate image on Transferthought Media or using Google Image Search. Similarly, search for and select a suitable image for the coach thumbnail, which will be displayed at the bottom of the screen during narrations. Additionally, choose the preferred voice for the AI coach. Once you have made these selections, click "Save."

Step 2: Setting Up the Environment

Click the "Set Environment" button to configure the training environment. You can choose from your own uploads, images from Flickr, or Transferthought Media. Search for "restaurant" (or your preferred scenery) in the Transferthought assets to find relevant images. Select an image and set it as the environment. Adjust the view to the desired perspective by dragging the mouse on your screen. Add props such as characters, images, text, or audio to enhance the environment. For instance, search for a broom in Google Image Search, select an appropriate image, and position it within the environment. Similarly, add other relevant props like a mop. Once you are satisfied with the setup, click "Save."

Step 3: Introduction and Narration

Create an introductory step by adding a narration that will be displayed at the top of the page. Choose the "Title Overlay" option from the dropdown menu and enter the narration text. You can also set the transcript as the next step, which automatically progresses the trainees to the next stage after the narration is completed. Adjust the timeout duration if needed or set the step to pause, requiring manual skipping. Save your changes.

Step 4: Cloning the Environment

Clone the environment if you want to change the view for a specific step. In this example, we want to set the view outside the cleaning product area to focus trainees' attention. Click "Set View" to save the new perspective.

Step 5: Adding Narration and Clickable Hotspots

Add a narration for the next step, instructing trainees to click on the prop they should use first for cleaning. Select "Clickable Hotspots" from the dropdown menu. Create two hotspots, one for the broom and another for the mop. You can choose from a selection of various shapes for the hotspots. Scale up the hotspot, add feedback, and save the changes. Repeat the process to add a hotspot for the mop (or other props), providing appropriate feedback for each option.

Step 6: Photo Overlay and Narration

Include a photo overlay and narration to guide trainees. Add a Google Image Search or upload a picture related to your topic. Select the desired image, save it, and don't forget to update the narration box with relevant information.

Step 7: Title Overlay and Multiple-Choice Question

Introduce the next section by using a title overlay and narration. To engage trainees, add a multiple-choice question. Select "Multiple Choice" from the dropdown menu and enter the question. Provide answer options and corresponding feedback. Designate the correct answer that allows trainees to progress automatically. Save your changes.

Step 8: Conclusion

For the concluding step, add a title overlay and narration to wrap up the training. Ensure all the necessary information is included.

Step 9: AI Coach

In this final step, trainees can interact with the AI coach by asking questions. Customize the step with additional information and details that trainees might ask about. Save your changes and adjust the step title accordingly.

Step 10: Publish and Share

Review your transfer thought and click "Publish" once you are satisfied. You can then share the training material by copying the link, embedding it, or using a QR code. Additionally, the "View" option allows you to test the transfer thought in a new tab.

Conclusion: Congratulations!

You have successfully created a restaurant housekeeping transfer thought using various step types and interactive features. By following this step-by-step guide, you can deliver an engaging and effective training experience for your restaurant staff. Enjoy utilizing the power of Transfer Thought to enhance your training programs. Thank you for watching!

0:15  Let's get started to get started.

0:20 Click the new button, you can click on the edit icon up in the corner to change the title.

0:28 I'm going to make mine restaurant housekeeping. Next, change the course thumbnail.

0:32 Now I'm going to make mine a restaurant.

0:36 You can look through transfer dot media or Google image search as well as your own uploads.

0:40 I'm going to do a Google image search. OK, this photo looks good. So I'm going to select it next.

0:49  I'm going to change my coach thumbnail which is going to be shown at the bottom of the screen along with the narrations.

0:55 Again, I'm going to do a Google image search.

0:58  There's an option to choose an image with a transparent background, but I'm going to stick to color for now, I'm going to search for a chef because that seems fitting.

1:08 All right, she looks good. So I'll save that. Lastly, I'm going to change my coach's voice to Joanna.

1:15 All right, I'll now press save next. It's time to set up our environment.

1:20  Click the set environment button to get started.

1:23 You can choose from either your own uploads, flicker images or transfer thought media.

1:27  I'm going to look through the transfer thought assets and search up restaurant again.

1:33 All right, I'm going to see what's in this folder and search until I get to a kitchen.

1:37 Ok, this one looks good to me. Now, I can take a look around.

1:43 I like this view, so I'm going to go to the upper toolbar and select set view.

1:48  This will set my view so that trainees see this exact point of view when they're entering the training.

1:54 Next, I'm going to add some props over to this corner.

1:57 You can add characters, images, text, or audio.

2:02 I'm going to add images for now first, I'm going to look for a broom in Google image search.

2:10  Make sure to set the color as transparent if you want no background.

2:15  OK, this picture looks good to me. Next, click on your prop to drag it around.

2:22  You have the option to either change your image, flip it scale, rotate or animate it for now.

2:30 I'm just going to scale it down and rotate it slightly. OK, that looks good to me.

2:38  So I'm going to click back to the environment.

2:41 I'm going to add another image from Google search. OK, this looks good to me.

2:50 I've previously uploaded an image of a mop, so I'm just going to go to my uploads and select that.

2:55 Now, I'm going to drag this to the side, rotate it and scale down.

3:09 Now I'm going to click off the environment and add another new step.

3:13  This is going to be my introduction.

3:18  Now, I'm going to add a narration that will be read out loud on the top of this page.

3:23 You'll see a dropdown menu that has many different step options for now though I'm going to stick with the title overlay.

3:30  Additionally, there's this edit step options icon. There are three options.

3:35  The first is the transcript, which I will choose.

3:38  This means that trainees will automatically be brought to the next step.

3:41  Once the narration is done, there is also an option for a time out in which you're allowed to choose how many seconds the stop is paused on before trainees are automatically moved on to the next one.

3:53 Lastly, there's an option to pause which will pause the step and force trainees to manually skip to the next.

4:01 I'm gonna stick to transcript for now and press save.

4:05 Now, I'm going to clone my environment.

4:07 This is because for the third step, I want to change my view, I want to set it out of the cleaning product so that trainees focus their attention on this.

4:15 Don't forget to hit set view. That's all for this step.

4:18 So let's add another first, I'm going to add in my narration.

4:25 Notice how I wrote, click on the prop we should use first for cleaning because that's going to be a part of our next step.

4:31 Don't forget to change the title before you move on.

4:33 Now, add a new step, select the drop-down menu, and select clickable hotspots.

4:40 I'm going to add two hotspots, one for my broom and one for my mop.

4:45 They're both going to be circles, but there are many options for shapes that you can choose.

4:54 All right. So this circle, click on it and scale it up next.

5:01 I'm going to click back on the environment and then hit the edit step options button.

5:09 I'm going to go to settings to add some narration feedback.

5:14 Once you're happy with what you've written, press save.

5:16 Now, I'm going to add one more hotspot for the map.

5:20 Once I'm done with that, I'm going to click off the environment and add more feedback.

5:24 I'm going to keep the broom selected though because that's the correct answer.

5:28 So I want trainees to move on after selecting that one.

5:31 Don't forget to add feedback in all of your options so that trainees are not confused.

5:38 Next, I'm going to add a narration as well as a picture overlay.

5:42 First, I'll add my narration in and then I'm going to select a photo first click on image overlay and then the edit step options button.

5:54 I'm going to just use a Google image search for sweeping the floor.

5:59 OK, this looks good to me, so I'm going to select that and save it.

6:04 Don't forget to change your subtitle.

6:06 Next, I'm going to add one more title, overlay, and narration to move on to the next part of our training Grease Traps.

6:15 Next, I'm going to add a multiple-choice question in order to keep our trainees engaged.

6:21 Click on the drop-down menu and select multiple choice type your question into the step title.

6:28 Once you're done with that, you can click the edit step options icon.

6:32 I'm not going to add an image for now, but I will add multiple-choice questions.

6:36 Once you've typed in an answer option, be sure to hit the settings button to the side to add feedback.

6:46 Keep adding answer options until you're satisfied with the results.

6:52 Be sure to add feedback for every question so that your trainees are not confused and remember to select the correct answer, which is the one that will allow trainees to move on to the next step automatically hit, save when you're done.

7:04 I'm going to add another title overlay for my conclusion.

7:08 Once I'm done typing my narration, I'm going to add one last final step.

7:13 This step is called the AI coach.

7:15 In this step, trainees can ask their AI coach questions and then the coach will answer to the best of their abilities.

7:22 You as the trainer can also add additional information under the edit step options.

7:28 I'm going to type out some details right now.

7:32 Once you've added all the additional information you'd like to, you can click save, don't forget to change the step title name and you're done.

7:41 Once you're happy with your transfer thought, you can click publish.

7:46 Now, you can share a link by copying it, sharing an embedded link, or even a QR code.

7:52 You can also press view which will bring you to a new tab where you can test out your transfer that yourself.

7:57 Thanks for watching!
